Bonne Terre mine is located one hour south of St. Louis, in the town of Bonne Terre, Missouri. The Bonne Terre mine is illuminated with over 500,000 Watts of lighting from above the water. There are over 50 different dive tours in the mine and you dive them all sequentially. Diving is conducted in groups up to 12 divers with the dive guide leading the dive and a safety diver bringing up the rear. The average length of the dive is 35 to 45 minutes and average depth is 40 to 60 feet. Water temperature is consistently 60° all year long with no thermoclines. The air temperature in the mine is 65°. Visibility is always 100 feet plus year round. A 7mm wetsuit and hood or drysuit are necessary to dive the mine. Open water certification is all that is necessary to dive the mine.
We will be diving the mine on November 7 & 8. A typical dive scenario would be three dives on Saturday at 9:00 am, 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm, with a fourth dive on Sunday. The mine offers pre-blended 32% Nitrox at $10 per tank. Call 715-675-6722 to register for this trip.
